revlite

The RevLite is an FDA-cleared Q-switched Nd:YAG laser delivering energy across four wavelengths — 1064nm, 532nm, 585nm, and 650nm. Its PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse (PTP) mode makes it uniquely effective for laser toning, pigmentation correction, and carbon laser facials. Widely regarded as a gold-standard device for treating melasma, sun damage, and uneven skin tone, it is safe for all skin types including darker skin tones with a low risk of adverse effects.

RevLite is a gold-standard Q-switched Nd:YAG laser renowned for its precision in treating pigmentation and skin tone irregularities. It operates across four wavelengths and features the proprietary PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse (PTP) mode — delivering ultra-short, high-peak-power pulses that shatter pigment particles through photoacoustic energy while generating minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

HOW REVLITE WORKS

RevLite emits nanosecond-duration pulses of laser energy that are absorbed selectively by pigment and melanin in the skin. The rapid energy delivery creates a photoacoustic shockwave that mechanically breaks down pigment granules into microscopic fragments, which are then cleared naturally by the body's lymphatic system.

The PTP mode delivers two pulses in rapid succession — priming the tissue with the first pulse and then shattering the target with the second. This dual-pulse mechanism produces superior pigment clearance while keeping tissue heating to a minimum, making it exceptionally safe for repeated treatments and for patients with darker skin tones where thermal damage risks are traditionally higher.

RevLite treatment benefits

RevLite's 1064nm wavelength reaches the deeper dermal layers where stubborn melasma and hormonal pigmentation reside, reducing pigment load progressively with each session while protecting surrounding skin.

Superficial solar lentigines and UV-induced pigmentation are selectively targeted by the 532nm wavelength, breaking down melanin deposits and restoring an even, youthful complexion.

Low-fluence PTP laser toning delivers gentle, repeated pulses across the whole face to suppress melanin production, reduce dullness, and improve overall skin clarity and luminosity over a course of treatments.

A carbon lotion is applied to the skin and activated by the RevLite beam — absorbing laser energy to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, deep-clean pores, and reduce oil production for a smooth, radiant result.

Precisely targeted pulses address discrete spots and freckles with minimal risk to the surrounding skin, delivering a clearer complexion without the prolonged downtime of ablative treatments.

By systematically reducing excess melanin across the face, RevLite toning sessions progressively homogenise skin tone, improving clarity and radiance with no downtime required between appointments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

RevLite FAQ's

RevLite is an FDA-cleared Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that delivers ultra-short nanosecond pulses of energy across four wavelengths. Unlike continuous-wave or longer-pulse lasers, it shatters pigment through photoacoustic energy rather than heat — achieving superior pigment clearance with significantly less thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

RevLite is used to treat melasma, sun damage, age spots, freckles, lentigines, uneven skin tone, and dull complexion. It is also used for laser toning — a low-fluence whole-face treatment popular in Korea for skin brightening — and for the carbon laser facial (Hollywood peel), which targets enlarged pores, oiliness, and surface texture.

Yes. RevLite's PTP mode and 1064nm wavelength make it one of the safest laser options for patients with darker Fitzpatrick skin types. Because the energy is delivered photoacoustically rather than thermally, the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is significantly lower than with many other pigment lasers. A thorough consultation will assess your individual suitability.

This depends on the concern being treated. For laser toning and brightening, most patients undergo 6–10 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart for optimal results, with maintenance sessions thereafter. For targeted pigmented lesions, fewer sessions may be required. A consultation with Dr Yoo's team will determine the right programme for you.

Laser toning and carbon facial treatments require no downtime — patients can return to their normal activities immediately. For higher-fluence targeted treatments, mild redness and transient darkening of pigmented spots may occur for a few days. Dr Yoo's team will advise on what to expect based on your individual treatment plan.

Some improvement in skin clarity and brightness is often visible after the first session. Significant results in pigmentation reduction and skin tone evenness develop progressively across a full course of treatment, with ongoing improvement continuing between sessions as the body clears pigment fragments through the lymphatic system.

RevLite is suitable for individuals experiencing melasma, pigmentation, sun damage, dull or uneven skin tone, or enlarged pores. It is safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types and tones. A consultation is recommended to assess your concerns, confirm suitability, and design a personalised treatment plan.
