What a lesion is

Diagnosis before removal.

A lesion is an area of skin with an abnormal growth or appearance compared with the skin around it, often a bump or a patch. Through careful physical examination and the latest diagnostic tests we confirm the diagnosis of a range of benign skin lesions, advise on the best way to remove them, and then complete the procedure (minor skin surgery or laser) to achieve the best cosmetic outcome.

“Something new has appeared and I don't know what it is.”

Examination and diagnostic testing come first. Knowing exactly what a lesion is determines whether, and how, it should be removed.

Accurate diagnosis
“It's on my face. I'm worried about scarring.”

The removal method is chosen for the cosmetic outcome as well as the clinical one, which is why both surgical and laser routes are available here.

Cosmetic outcome
“I was told it was harmless but it bothers me.”

Benign does not mean you have to live with it. Syringomas, skin tags, warts and moles are all commonly removed for cosmetic reasons.

Benign but visible
“Could it be something that looks similar?”

Our evaluation differentiates conditions with overlapping appearances (syringomas from Fordyce spots or milia, for example) before any treatment is chosen.

Look-alike conditions

Syringoma removal

Syringomas

Benign growths caused by overactive sweat glands, most often small, firm bumps on the lower eyelids or upper cheeks. Harmless, but their location and appearance can affect confidence, and they are commonly mistaken for Fordyce spots or milia.

Which route?

Decided after evaluation

Minor skin surgery or laser: the method follows the diagnosis, the site and the cosmetic outcome you want, and is discussed with you before anything is done.

“A lesion should never be removed before it is understood. What it is decides how it should come off, and how the skin will look afterwards.”

Questions

Asked before booking.

A lesion is an area of skin with an abnormal growth or appearance compared with the skin surrounding it, often in the form of a bump or a patch.

We specialise in benign skin lesions, including warts, moles, sun spots, skin tags and syringomas. Each is diagnosed first, then removed by the method best suited to it.

It depends on the diagnosis, the site and the cosmetic outcome. We advise on the best way to remove the lesion and then complete the procedure, whether that is minor skin surgery or laser, to achieve the best cosmetic result.

Our approach begins with a comprehensive evaluation, ensuring an accurate diagnosis that differentiates syringomas from conditions with similar symptoms, such as Fordyce spots or milia.

Our techniques prioritise safety, precision and comfort, with a focus on minimising scarring and maintaining the health of the surrounding skin. The best cosmetic outcome is part of how the method is chosen.
