What is Acne Scarring?
Acne scarring refers to the permanent changes in skin texture and appearance caused by severe or prolonged acne. These scars form when inflamed blemishes damage the skin’s underlying tissue, resulting in depressions, raised areas, or discolouration. At Dr Jinah Yoo, we understand that acne scars can affect both your confidence and the overall health of your skin.
That’s why we offer tailored treatments designed to target different types of acne scarring, including ice pick scars, boxcar scars, and rolling scars. With our expertise in advanced dermatology and cutting-edge technology, we focus on restoring smoother, clearer skin while improving overall skin health and texture.
How We Treat Acne at Dr Jinah Yoo Dermatology Clinic
At Dr Jinah Yoo Clinic, our Acne Programme is tailored to each patient's skin type and severity of acne, ensuring long-term success through personalised care. Programmes to address active spots as well as blemishes left behind from active spots are available and the suitability of these programmes is discussed during the consultation depending on the severity and any contraindication.

The Sciton Erbium laser is a state-of-the-art skin resurfacing treatment designed to refine pores and dramatically improve the appearance of scars. By precisely removing damaged skin layers, the laser stimulates natural collagen production and promotes new skin cell turnover. This highly customisable treatment is effective for acne scars, surgical scars, and textural irregularities, offering dramatic improvements in skin smoothness and clarity. With controlled precision and adjustable intensity, the Sciton Erbium laser ensures optimal results with minimal downtime, delivering radiant and refreshed skin.
Potenza/Sylfirm X
Potenza and Sylfirm X are advanced RF microneedling treatments designed to address enlarged pores, scars, and overall skin texture concerns. Potenza combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production deep within the skin, promoting smoother, firmer, and more even-toned skin. Sylfirm X, featuring dual-wave RF technology, delivers targeted energy to improve scars, minimise pores, and address skin laxity and pigmentation. Both treatments are highly effective for acne scars, uneven texture, and fine lines, offering visible improvements with minimal downtime. Customisable to individual needs, Potenza and Sylfirm X are excellent options for achieving a rejuvenated and refined complexion.
Juvelook Skinbooster
JuveLook is an advanced injectable treatment combining polylactic acid (PLA) with hyaluronic acid to revitalise the skin from within. Designed to target enlarged pores, acne scars, and uneven skin texture, JuveLook works by stimulating collagen production, improving skin elasticity, and smoothing imperfections over time. This innovative treatment offers natural, gradual results with minimal downtime, making it an ideal choice for those seeking long-lasting skin rejuvenation and a more refined complexion.
Salmon polynucleotide Injections (Rejuran)
Rejuran is a regenerative skin treatment formulated with salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN), known for its powerful skin-healing properties. By boosting cellular repair and regeneration, Rejuran effectively reduces the appearance of scars, minimises pores, and enhances skin tone and texture. This injectable treatment promotes deep hydration and improves overall skin health, making it especially beneficial for addressing acne scars and uneven skin. With minimal downtime, Rejuran delivers a smoother, more radiant, and naturally rejuvenated complexion.
Punch Excision
Punch excision is a precise surgical technique used to remove deep, isolated acne scars, such as ice-pick scars. By excising the scar tissue with a specialised tool and suturing the area, this treatment creates a smooth, more even skin surface as the site heals. Punch excision is particularly effective for stubborn scars that do not respond to other treatments, offering a permanent improvement in skin texture and appearance.
Subcision
Subcision is a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat rolling scars and tethered scars caused by underlying fibrous bands. Using a fine needle, the fibrous bands are carefully released, allowing the skin to lift and smooth naturally. This stimulates collagen production, further improving the skin’s texture over time. Subcision is often combined with other treatments, such as dermal fillers or microneedling, for optimal scar reduction and long-lasting results.
TCA Cross
TCA Cross (Chemical Reconstruction of Skin Scars) is a specialised technique for treating deep scars, particularly ice-pick and boxcar scars. Using high-concentration trichloroacetic acid (TCA), the treatment targets the scar’s base, stimulating collagen production and filling in the depressed area over time. TCA Cross is highly effective for improving skin texture and reducing the depth of scars, with visible improvements after a series of treatments.
Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers are a non-surgical option for improving the appearance of atrophic scars, such as rolling or boxcar scars. By injecting hyaluronic acid or other biocompatible substances into the scarred areas, dermal fillers add volume and smooth the skin’s surface. This treatment offers immediate results, with added benefits from collagen stimulation over time. Dermal fillers are an excellent choice for enhancing skin texture, creating a more even, rejuvenated complexion.
Halo
Halo is an advanced hybrid fractional laser treatment that dramatically improves overall skin quality by targeting both surface and deeper layers of the skin. It effectively enhances skin tone and texture, reduces irregularities, and addresses pigmentation, scars, and sun damage. Halo also promotes tissue tightening, helping to smooth fine lines and wrinkles while minimising the appearance of enlarged pores. Ideal for treating dull skin, uneven tone, acne scars, and early signs of ageing, Halo delivers comprehensive rejuvenation with visible results and a revitalised, radiant complexion.

The staff was welcoming, and the therapist was knowledgeable and attentive. The clinic is clean and modern, and I am very pleased with my treatment results. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience here at Dr Jinah Yoo! I had the ‘brightening’ treatment after having too much sunburn on my summer vacation, and it really helped. The process was very enjoyable thanks to the skillful and gentle practitioner. I will come back in the future if I have any needs for skin improvements!
A perfect experience! I had the Dermal Tightening Programme which is for lift up. The therapist is very professional and the environment is also very helpful for relaxing. Nice location as well.
Absolutely love the place. Had some moles removed from my face by Dr Yoo. A week later there is not the slightest indication that there was ever even anything there. Results are incredible.
