Pores
Enlarged pores are a common skin concern that can affect individuals of all skin types. These visible pores, often found on areas like the nose, cheeks, and forehead, play a vital role in releasing natural oils and sweat but can become more noticeable due to factors like genetics, excess oil production, and the skin’s natural ageing process.

When skin loses elasticity with age, pore size can appear larger, contributing to an uneven skin texture.

What are Large Pores?
Large pores, or visible openings in the skin, allow natural oils (sebum) and sweat to reach the skin's surface. Pore size is often influenced by genetics, hormonal changes, and skin type, with oily skin being particularly prone to larger pores due to excess oil production. Over time, factors such as sun exposure, the natural ageing process, and a reduction in collagen can cause pores to expand, creating a more uneven skin texture. Additionally, when dead skin cells, oil, and debris clog pores, they can appear larger and lead to blackheads or inflamed acne.
At Dr Jinah Yoo Dermatology, our advanced large pores treatment options aim to effectively reduce pore size, improve skin texture, and restore a smooth, refined complexion. Through personalised treatments, we address not only the appearance of large facial pores but also the underlying causes, promoting long-term skin health and a balanced, radiant look.

The staff was welcoming, and the therapist was knowledgeable and attentive. The clinic is clean and modern, and I am very pleased with my treatment results. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience here at Dr Jinah Yoo! I had the ‘brightening’ treatment after having too much sunburn on my summer vacation, and it really helped. The process was very enjoyable thanks to the skillful and gentle practitioner. I will come back in the future if I have any needs for skin improvements!
A perfect experience! I had the Dermal Tightening Programme which is for lift up. The therapist is very professional and the environment is also very helpful for relaxing. Nice location as well.
Absolutely love the place. Had some moles removed from my face by Dr Yoo. A week later there is not the slightest indication that there was ever even anything there. Results are incredible.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Large Pores FAQ’s
What causes large pores to become more noticeable over time?
Pores tend to become more visible as we age due to a decrease in collagen and elastin, which support skin firmness. Additionally, overactive sebaceous glands can produce excess oil that stretches pores, making them appear larger. Other factors, such as UV exposure and hormonal changes, can also contribute to enlarged pores.
How does Dr Jinah Yoo Dermatology treat large pores effectively?
We use a combination of different treatments to treat large pores. These treatments help to tighten the skin, reduce oil production from sebaceous glands, and boost collagen, which collectively refine pores and improve skin texture over time.
Are there any at-home methods to reduce the appearance of large pores?
While professional treatments provide the most effective results, at-home care can help. Salicylic acid is beneficial for oily skin as it penetrates pores to dissolve excess oil and dead skin cells, helping to keep pores clear. A clay mask can also be used weekly to absorb oil and tighten pores temporarily, giving a smoother appearance.
Is the treatment safe for sensitive skin and different skin types?
Yes, our treatments are customised for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Our laser devices and injection treatments are carefully selected to match your skin’s needs, ensuring a safe, effective approach to pore reduction without irritation or damage.
How often will I need to come in for treatments to maintain results?
For optimal results, we generally recommend treatments every 4 weeks, especially for programmes involving multiple treatments, like our Signature Toning and Skinboosters. Regular sessions help keep pores refined and support long-term skin health. Our dermatologist will tailor a maintenance schedule based on your individual skin type and goals.
